For this video, I filmed my flat and animated it with footage of many aeroplanes. I have long been fascinated with them as my grandmother used to take me to a small regional airport. Additionally, by that time, I’ve been away from my home country for half a decade, which made me contemplate the concept of being foreign as an outsider.

Being inside of my room far from my hometown made me unsure about myself being outside or inside. That made me create a video where aeroplanes cruised around within the room, blurring the distinction between these two states.

This video marked an important milestone in my artistic practice. It was my first full-fledged production, and I incorporated the Point of View settings and moving images learned from my postgraduate teacher, Phyllida Barlow, into the creation process.
